AU2012 Sincerely Apologizes ...

... For not even mentioning this obvious one ... And Yes, we know this is old, but whatever ...

"Today" show co-host Matt Lauer, who injured his shoulder on Long Island this past weekend after a mishap with a deer while bicycling, may be back on the air by the end of the week, an NBC spokeswoman said.

The incident forced Lauer to miss Monday's show, NBC reported.

"He was riding his bike over the weekend and he had a run-in with a deer," co-host Meredith Vieira said, according to the NBC Web site report.

NBC did not say where on Long Island the accident took place. Records show Lauer owns property in Sag Harbor.

Vieira added that although Lauer's shoulder was hurt, his sense of humor was intact: He joked in an e-mail that he thought "the deer was hired by the competition."

Uh, Ha Ha ... it had nothing to do with the competition, unless by competition, you mean Animal Uprising 2012.

Frankly speaking, it looks as if the deer were able to voice and act upon what so many of us already think; Matt Lauer is as awesome as a colonoscopy ...
