Rabid Rabbits ...

Two women and their dogs were attacked by what they suspect was a rabid rabbit Friday morning at a home on Lilac Lane.

Christina Smith was out with her basset hound in her sister-in-law's front yard when a rabbit ran out from under a bush and repeatedly charged and snapped at them. After she managed to get away unharmed and run inside, the rabbit then crawled under a fence in the backyard and charged and bit the pit bull that belonged to the homeowner, Debra Drost.

Fear Not World, beacause an unlikely hero has come to the rescue in this situation ... Wait for it ...

The pit bull eventually killed the rabbit, but now Drost is concerned her dog might have contracted rabies. She also said she is troubled by the lack of concern animal control workers are showing about the situation.

But of course, no one takes the Animal Uprising 2012 seriously ...

"I called animal control and said this isn't normal. Rabbits don't attack people," she said. "They just told me to put the rabbit in a bag and leave it in the front yard. I feel like they are acting like this is no big deal, but it will be if a major outbreak of rabies happens."

Thankfully, Easter is coming ... that glorious time of year when children all over the world skip gleefully through meadows, searching for Easter Eggs full of candy, left by the rabid mutant Easter bunnies who lay in wait, looking for the perfect chance to eat our faces off ...
